iOS / #5 – Generate QR Codes

Another new week, another new app!

At work, vendors are engaged to provide unique QR Codes for each event attendee. On the event day, attendees could present their QR Codes- The QR Codes would be scanned and their attendances, logged. This cost over a thousand dollars per event.

On this sleepy, sickly morning, I begin tiny steps to explore steps it’ll take to reproduce this service ha ha ha will I make it will I not ha ha cues favourite chant: this is action, this not being sure ~

Part A: Generate QR Codes ( wE r HeRE ~ )

Part B: Read QR Codes & store info would involve sth like creating database for different events so that the info within the QR Code could be saved in its respective sheets upon being scanned ( ? ?? ? )

I almost forgot– For any feedback/suggestions/ support needed, feel free to email me at rachelchng_@hotmail.com.

iOS / #4 – Mr Sight

My Sight is now available on the App Store!

Further to “Learning Braille”, intended to

(a) simplify learning braille for sighted individuals to encourage better communication; and

(b) foster inclusivity amongst the wider community,

Mr Sight hopes to take a step to aid individuals with visual impairment by using technology to help them interpret their surroundings.

Mr Sight uses a pre-trained machine learning model to attempt at image classification. Through tapping anywhere (to make it most accessible for people with visual difficulties) on the screen, Mr Sight will provide a guess of what the item before the camera could be.

Admittedly, this machine learning model is far from knowing fully the world around us and may not accurately decipher what is before the camera lens.

Nevertheless, I hope to improve Mr Sight overtime, so that it could one day be of a tiny contribution, no matter how small a measure! 🙂
